Mega Yacht Marina Development -

Dock Maarten’s location, situated on the island of St. Maarten, enjoys a windfall created by the huge expansion in the marine mega-yacht infrastructure built over the past four years. With the recent addition of The Yacht Club at Isle de Sol and The Yacht Club at Port de Plaisance, St. Maarten has gained the reputation as the mega-yacht capital of the Caribbean. Over 500 yachts were recorded “in port” last year in St. Maarten with waiting lists reported at all four of the major facilities in the lagoon. Dock Maarten will be strategically built outside the Simpson bay lagoon thus negating the need to enter into the lagoon through the narrow opening created at the entry bridge. Additionally, Dock Maarten is located considerably closer to St. Barths which is one the major destinations for the mega-yachts.

Dock Maarten will be the first mega yacht facility on St. Maarten which does not rely on three bridge openings per day and access through the narrow channel to gain access. Additionally, Dock Maarten will have two slips capable of handling the new breed of yachts (over 300’) in length. This capability will make Dock Maarten one of only two locations in the entire Caribbean capable of mooring this type of vessel.

CMMC NV which currently operates the two most successful mega-yachts facilities in the Caribbean will likewise be managing Dock Maarten. By using a standardized Computer reservation system, dockage reservations can be made on the internet at any of the CMMC NV managed properties and will insure the yachts ultimate needs are taken care of.

Real Estate Development -

Dock Maarten will begin construction of its upland real estate development once the major construction of the marina has been completed. At present, the layout entails in excess of 4000 square meters of residential space and 1500 square meters of ground floor commercial space. The residential levels will be split up into 40 – 50 2 bedroom apartments for use as either timeshare or condominiums. Every unit at Dock Maarten will have a waterfront view. The commercial space on the ground level will open up onto the boardwalk between Philipsburg and the new A.C. Wathey Cruise Terminal. St. Maarten currently receives over 1.2 Million cruise passengers yearly and as such the commercial space available at Dock Maarten will be ideally suited for targeting these tourists.
